A year or so ago, I cam across a breakfast sandwich recipe involving a sprouted bagel. Ever since then, I've craved a sprouted wheat bagel. I'm not really sure why, it just sounded exceptionally delicious.
About two weeks ago, I found sprouted wheat bagels in the frozen bread section of Central Market (the closest thing there is to a Whole Foods in Fort Worth). I was so excited! I actually never got around to making the specific recipe, but for the next few days I made delicious lunch sandwiches with the bagels.
I didn't follow a recipe, or even bother to make up my own recipe for the lunch sandwiches. I did however make up a basic formula, which I branched off of most days; Sprouted wheat bagel, a thick spread of hummus, cheese, and a vegetable (usually spinach leaves). Then I'd heat it up right before eating so the cheese was all melty and warm....mmm :)
